ben sims presents the penultimate chapter in his long-running theory series. over the years theory has presented us with some of the most essential house & techno releases on offer. sims unleashes four forward forward-thinking techno cuts for 050.2, two of these receiving the remix treatment from planetary assault systems and dvs1.

the third release from wavefreform again comes to us from the east, and this time around it marks a reformation of sound for both the label and the artist. half of the long-running georgian duo greenbeam & leon, boyd schidt is a producer with over a decade of work already under his belt whose first releases emerged in 2007. as a solo artist, his career dates to 2010 with digital releases on georgia�s front rec, fvf records, and emote music, and a track on the new vinyl compilation from studio r°. with the hard, broken kick pattern, elevated tempo, and nods to electro, the a-side �phantom�, a collaboration with subex, is a change of pace for the artist and the hardest thing yet to emerge from wavereform. dubwise use of effects shows the same hands still at work, but the sound elements, granulated blasts of static and drop-based structure of the track hold strong parallels to the rejuvenated techno sound currently emerging from the uk. the b-side, �structure�, recalls the previous work of the artist: subtle, building dub techno rich in detail and with the dancefloor firmly in mind. there is clear experience at work here with his deliberate deployment and manipulation of elements as the track struts along while enveloping the listener in its smaller details. as it pauses and takes an extended breakdown, the details rush forwards, but it finds renewed force to power itself to the close. coming in this case from an established producer with a long history, this kind of control is not surprising, but it is more indication of the riches of the east that have yet to be discovered by audiences worldwide.

as the autumnal nights draw in, futureboogie show off a slightly darker edge to their ever expanding roster of artists, welcoming re-edit king mark e to the fold. the birmingham based dj and producer has risen steadily through the musical ranks over the last few years, cropping up on a multitude of top drawer labels like sonar kollectiv, running back, golf channel, his own merc imprint, and most recently a brace of albums for the us label spectral sound (home to matthew dear, osborne et al). title track, *activity* chugs at a house music pace but with plenty of techno swagger, bridging the gap between the two genres with ease. a simple and minimal beat is doused in a pacey acid bassline riff that is constantly morphing and transposing, layers of synths join in the infectious melody whilst soaring pads rise up with all the familiarity of a detroit techno classic.

tck are gerd janson , who otherwise runs the spledid running back label and philipp lauer, who produces grand music under his own name and is half of the fantastic arto mwambe. they just remixed sven väth among many other fab projects, atop that are both irresistable deejays and have a pedigree of being some of the nicest blokes that we know! but that all said, you havent eventually heard the best. its called pf01.02.03.04 and are their tracks made for this record.

*in a dream* is the third album from the juan maclean. if anything, this new lp is further evidence of the *undeniable creative chemistry between house music wizard juan maclean and vocalist / former lcd soundsystem member nancy whang* (pitchfork). the album takes its musical cues from moroders munich to the funky nassau sounds of compass point and to anytime in downtown nyc. co-produced by nick millhiser (holy ghost!). the vinyl lp includes a download code.

it has been over a year since the last schmorgasbord release dropped, which saw al tourettes (better known now as second storey) rubbing up against paradroid in a mix up of electro, techno and electronica styles. now the label returns with bass clef and frak, who were asked to each commit a half-finished sketch of a track to tape, exchange tapes and finish off each others tracks. bass clef has been a strong solo force on the electronic music scene since he first emerged in the wider bass music field in 2006, and has since released on idle hands, punch drunk, pan and public information as well as running his own magic + dreams imprint. swedish trio frak have been releasing since their debut album in 1987 when they were thirteen years old. the swedish trio have been active for most of that time, running borft records and releasing a huge amount of music as well as performing live. in recent years they have enjoyed more recognition with releases on kontra musik, digitalis and sex tags mania. schmorgasbord launched in 2011 with a release that saw appleblim and october collaborating for the first time. it was followed up by a release from s-max and spatial.

following eight years running the eevonext imprint with stefan robbers, rosedale records aims to showcase hand-picked producers sharing sides with remixes by technos establishment and some of estroes new discovered talents via her own producer advice company. but theres no better way of getting down to business with a pound of no-nonsense, signalling of intent from the boss herself, a nice means of getting the ball rolling and to set future contributors on the rosedale path.

in the late 60s early 70s many american soldiers where stationed all over germany. among those where musicians who played in several army bands like the east of underground who recorded a now sought after album after they had won the special services entertainment showband contest held in frankfurt in 1971. nobody knows which other bands participated in this contest, maybe also the soul explosion which were stationed in augsburg, upper bavaria. around the same time, a man named charles held opened a club in augsburg town called tarantel. furthermore he was running a record label of the same name on which he released a handful of 7inch singles from different, local bands, mainly not funky at all though. the soul explosions release remains the only one in the field of american soul & funk music. the band recorded a fantabulous double sider, one deep funk side with a soulful ballad on the flip which makes both hardcore funk and soul collectors happy. unfortunately there is no more information available about the band, only that they even performed live at the tarantel club.

frankfurts robert dietz first solo release on desolat robert dietz has been one of the most consistent producers around in recent years, with releases on a diverse assortment of labels including cecille, cadenza, running back and saved records. while roberts your so hood track featured on the desolat x sampler back in march, then this will be his long-awaited debut solo release on desolat, and as one would expect from such a talented producer it is a an striking ep.

kenneth christiansen & dennis bøg presents pattern repeat part 7. after a litle break pattern repeat is back with a new ep. this time pattern repeat delievers 2 very powerfull techno tracks with heavy chords and dubby elements. kenneth is also running the labels echocord and echocord colour, and dennis is known from his baum label, and his resoe releases. its still all about dub-techno but with a heavy metallic sound that defines the project pattern repeat. this one will be in red coloured vinyl. both tracks will be perfect for the peaktime hour.

luckyme are very proud to present the �rosario ep from s-type.s-types rise started in spring 2012. emerging, gleaming and show-stopping from rustie�s seminal bbc essential mix was a track called �billboard� from a new producer that was part of the luckyme family as far back as his teenage years. the track had soundcloud and blog commentators looking around for the hugest most galactic superlatives for this �superhero� music. as skyscraping as the biggest us hip hop instrumentals but born of the ferment of glasgow�s world-wowing club world, it made it into end of year �best of� polls as well as the dj sets of rustie, tnght,and benji b. s-type aka 27 yo scot bobby perman started getting recognised down the shops glasgow. he was catapulted onto a 30 + date us tour and found himself in the studio with kindred spirits araabmuzik and baauer. there were rumours of national electronic goods adverts in south korea and s-type tracks in the running for inclusion on drakes nothing was the same album. on 19th sept 2013, the buzz started all over again as luckyme family member Éclair fifi dropped a new s-type tune �rosario� on her bbc radio 1 in new djs we trust show. now luckyme can announce the wait is over. lm017 aka s-type�s �rosario� ep is coming out on 16/6/2014. �rosario� sets the scene with a 2 min intro called �outside (inside)�, featuring rustie and yc the cynic, a rapper from hunts pont, the bronx that xxl called �one of the most promising artists in recent years�, the complex wordplay sounding perfect over bobby�s wide screen arrangement. �franco� is a fierce club banger with plenty of his signature chord work. �lost girls� stunts and fizzes in the way only an s-type track can. for the outro �inside (outro)�, bobby�s sweeping instrumental sets the scene for long island mc (and one time flipmode squad member) roc marciano, who sharply describes the beat as �historic�. s-type addicts, he�s back. early dj support from hudmo, kode 9, baauer, joker, rl grime and jackmaster.

we have reached number 10. time to celebrate with a remix edition of the deep88 & melchior sultana project. awaiting the album release (later 2014) we asked 2 of our heroes if they would like to make a remix for us. with a lot a lot (and a lot) of happiness we announce the nightwave remix by ben >cozmo d< cenac, formerly known as dream 2 science (and sha-lor and newcleus and the cellar boyz), that made us a wonderful space trip with his dreamy synths and stylish drums. the other remix is >yo house< treated by the excellent australian producer andras fox, that converts the song into a super classy deep house one with a lot of hiss and love. the man behind > running late> really made some magic over the melody of yo house, as usual with the aim of analogue warm-tape-feel and his crazy skills.

franz meersdonk und günther willers aka rdf are back on the road. the speedometer obviously tweaked, turned up and back on track. on the way tramper simon sunset got on board, et voila: made himself comfortable in the back cabin. left a bunch of wood back there. they drove the semi right into the sawmill and took care of the rough pre-cut themselves. cutter lowtec supported the two street heroes with all he�s got, or rather, he actually applied his own cutting-machine-operation. simon sunset�s wood cuttings were molded by a bunch of saws, slicers, and files. and for a final fine-tuning herb lf came running out of the canteen. and lo and behold, the machines spit out three beautifully stable pieces of wood with the finest texture- pattern captured in a stable frame of bark. so good was the material to begin with that nothing was left over for old, stinky bark mulch
